Another Saturday thought...

If animals could talk, what would they say? And if they could talk could they testify in court? And if they could testify in court, could a pet be compelled to testify against its own master? Personally I don't think that's right. I feel that the relationship between and pet and owner should be privledged-- like between a spouse or priest or a doctor or a lawyer. Otherwise who would get a pet, knowing they could rat you at any moment (no pun intended)?

Science will one day create that can talk. I know it, and if we are to prevent the meaning of pet ownership from being changed forever, our nation may one day have to enact a constitutional amendment to protect pet ownership in America. It is my humble opinion that pet ownership cannot be severed from its cultural, religious and natural roots without weakening the good influence of society.

Yeah.
