On the lighter side...

I'm glad the Angels are in the playoffs, too, but I'm disappointed that they're playing the Red Sox in the first round. Why? Because I'd like to see them meet up in the ALCS instead, having dispensed with the Yankees in one way or another. And it makes me sad to root for the Sox against the Angels, who are my second-favorite AL team. Incidentally, Central Division winners the Minnesota Twins are my third-favorite, so apart from the despised Yankees, I couldn't be happier about the AL teams in the post-season.

On the NL side, things aren't as peachy. While I like the Eastern Division winners (Atlanta), I'm disappointed that the Cubs and the Giants didn't make the cut. I'm happy for Steve Finley that the Dodgers won the West, but that's about all the affection I can muster for Los Angeles.

Here's how I'd like to see the post-season play out:

ALDS:
Red Sox over Angels
Twins over Yankees
ALCS:
Red Sox over Twins

NLDS:
Braves over Astros
Dodgers over Cardinals
NLCS:
Braves over Dodgers

WS:
Red Sox over Braves

How do I think it will ACTUALLY play out?

ALDS:
Red Sox over Angels
Yankees over Twins
ALCS:
Yankees over Red Sox

NLDS:
Braves over Astros
Cardinals over Dodgers
NLCS:
Cardinals over Braves

WS:
Yankees over Cardinals
