Lileks on Hewitt re: the cartoons

Hugh Hewitt: If the editor of the Minneapolis Star Tribune calls you and says, "James, should we run these, as a sign of solidarity with our knuckle-headed Danish friends?" what do you say?

James Lileks: I run 'em. I run them because they are making news. They are making news because people in Gaza are bursting into EU offices at gunpoint and demanding apologies. [...] I'd run them. Because it shows exactly what's inflaming people. If people are expecting that they're going to have some gross violent pornographic images, they'd be rather surprised to find how mild some of them are. But it shows what simply cannot be done by these people's likes. And I say, "Do it."
