T de F: Someone has to do this

The End is Near?

Charles at LGF reports that it looks like another Damn Yankee will win the TdeF, thus adding more fuel to the "why do they hate us?" fire.

Fantastic. Landis takes third in the time trial — but Oscar Pereiro (the leader at the start) is now about a minute behind Landis in the overall standings. And that means tomorrow we’ll have an American on the podium at the Tour de France for the eighth year in a row.

Go back to sleep, Monkey Brad, nothing to see here.

My word.

The folks commenting there know even less than the "other" Monkeys.

Charles himself had it wrong, though. The two favorites were not suspended by the TdF organizers and it was not a pro-Frenchy maneuver. They were suspended by their teams, as per their contracts and the code of ethics the whole pro cycling community has held for a long time.

Sorry folks, no evidence of a conspiracy here yet.

I should note that I did chortle self-satisfactorily when I realized that the French would have to endure an eighth year of an American Tour champion. I love that just a few days before his unparalled breakaway comeback French headlines had dismissed him as a yellow jersey leader "with no panache."

Little Green Footballs is the Democratic Underground of the pro-war Right.

No, that has nothing in particular to do with their TdF coverage, I'm just piling on because LGF gives me the same sort of gastric distress that Ann Coulter does.

Urp...better hit the head.

I think comparing LGF to the Democratic Underground is grossly unfair to Charles. Yes, some of the people who leave comments are way over the top and compare to anything posted on DU, but to imply that Charles is like that is demented.

And I'd like to defend Annie, but I can't. Her shtick is getting a little old.

Nope, Charles may be more thoughtful than his commenters, but he's also a race-baiting war monger. Maybe I should have compared it to The Daily Kos.
