My iTunes library just passed the 40,000 song mark. The "lucky" song? A live performance of "Bittersweet" by Victor Krummenacher, downloaded from his website.

I've done maybe 200 CDs so far, which is a fraction of the whole. I'm currently at 32,709 songs over all. Current selection: "The Isle of the Dead," by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Oh, and I haven't forgotten your request. I've been doing research.
Posted by: H.L. Monkey at April 21, 2007 05:35 PMWe'll see. My rate of acquisition is still pretty high, between LaLa and eMusic. Also, my play rate is quite high - over 75%. For the last three years or so, I've been quite obsessive about playing albums as soon as I add them to the library, making Smart Playlists that force these onto my iPod Nano. If I hadn't started listening to some lengthy podcasts about a year ago, I think my play rate would be close to 90% by now.
