The Best Man for the Job?

I've been struggling to find a candidate for president who is worth a damn. Giuliani is too liberal. McCain is too megalomaniacal. Romney is interesting, but there's something about him that I cannot quite define that gives me pause. I don't think much of Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich or the pitiful voters who hail either man as the Next Reagan or New Churchill or Latest Caesar. None of the second-tier or fringies appeal to me.

None, that is, except maybe this guy. If John Cox gets on the California ballot, I just might vote for him. If he doesn't, I just might write him in.

Looks like one fringie did. The man is a nutter. Or did you actually READ that article?

"In the Soviet Union, they blackball candidates."

It appears that while JamesPh doesn't read the blog, John Cox hasn't read a newspaper in almost 20 years.

"His first marriage broke up, he says, 'because she didn't love me anymore.'"

Now that's just sad, Larry.

"...he's wearing American eagle suspenders over a crisp, white dress shirt."

I don't know how to respond to this, except that this guy makes my support for Ron Paul feel a lot less futile. After all, Ron Paul has been elected and re-elected to congress repeatedly, all while continually voting his principles even when he's the only Republican doing so. John Cox lost his bid for the COOK COUNTY RECORDER OF DEEDS.

Joe, if it's serious politics you want, go read Hewitt. I'm just not capable of giving you want you're looking for, brother. Honest to Buddha.

I think it's sweet. I'll support him, even without watching his YouTube spot yet. He's kind of like a political NeoPet.

Maybe it's the temple garment.

Going by name only, if there's a better man than Cox to displace Bush and slip into the oval office, I can't think of one.
