Finally I can agree with McCain on something...

More nuclear reactors.

"I will set this nation on a course to building 45 new reactors by the year 2030" -- McCain

Whatta weenie. JFK woulda kicked his ass, AND had us to Mars and back by 2020.

Yeah, that's true. But I'm glad to see that he (and apparently, though to a lesser extent) has actually put nuclear power on the table.

Being a crazy libertarian kook, of course, I want my own nuclear reactor out behind my pool. Just to power my amps.

That should have read: (and apparently Obama as well, though to a lesser extent)

McCain's proposal is not unreasonable. A buddy of mine works for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He says that the NRC is eager to approve new reactors and that the utilities are more than happy to spend the billions to build. Most of the hold up, believe it or not, is supply and demand. There are only four or five companies in the world that make the specialized components that reactors need. But there are dozens of countries now looking to go nuclear, or expand their generating capacity. So there is a backlog of several years to build these things. Not a bad problem to have, I guess.

Can't we just buy some of the parts from Iran?
